I was recently diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease which means I now need to decrease my sodium intake. One of my favorite things is sunflowers seeds and since being diagnosed I’ve been shocked by the extremely high levels of sodium in all my favorite foods. In looking for a better alternative I found Chinook and I’m so glad I did. I was very skeptical about the flavor difference when I bought my sample packs but to my surprise, they found away to keep the great flavor with significantly lower sodium content. I would definitely recommend the dill pickle and the lemon pepper if you don’t know what to try!

I really like the idea of a healthier, less salty, sunflower seed. David’s and Bigs don’t offer seeds that have less than like 90% of your daily sodium intake. But, after trying these seeds, I’m definitely going back. The flavors are interesting concepts but they all just taste bad. Not to mention that they taste barely like anything at all. It’s like someone breathed the flavor of the seeds into the package and sealed them up. Maybe that’s the point? I don’t know. Either way I had big hopes and ended up not happy with the seeds. They’re definitely healthier but don’t taste good enough to offset it.
Hate to hear you had a subpar experience with the seeds Shane. If this is your first experience with our seeds then they will certainly have a more mild flavor profile. We are the better for you seed due to the all clean ingredients, no MSG, and severely reduced sodium which is where that typical punch in the mouth comes from.
